This is to make things easier for the readers to help those troubled.

READ THE SECOND POST. IT SHOWS SOLUTIONS TO MOST OF THE PROBLEMS. IF IT DID NOT HELP. THEN FEEL FREE TO POST IN HELP SECTION.

Introduction:
Just to get this clear for everyone. This thread is to help players to enhance gaming experience. Do feel free to post your problems in the HELP SECTION. Do NOT post useless comments. If there is anything wrong, do feel free to PM me, I will edit as soon as possible.



The connection to the server has ended.
• Possible reasons:
~ MAC Banned – You are able to login but you will be unable to get online with your character(s). This results in “The connection to the server has ended” or being booted out of MapleStory.
~ You have a glitched item or pet [Pet does not exist in NPC].
~ Database issue problem.

• Possible solutions:
~ Get Admin to unban you.
~ Server Restart


I'm having laggy gaming experience.
• Possible reasons:
~ Graphics card is outdated.
~ Server is experiencing flooded connections / peak hours
~ Downloads.
~ Shared IP in the area - Shared connection
~ Connetion problem

• Possible solutions:
~ Get a better graphics card. [Works best with Geforce 8 series]
~ Server restart
~ Stop our downloads, ESPECIALLY TORRENTS.
~ Change your Internet Service Provider [ Some ISPs allow single IP, and its not shared in an area ]
~ Turn off your modem/router for 1minute, Turn it on for 5minutes and try accessing the game again.




Unable to start game/Screen Went black after running Slinky_ms.exe
• Possible reasons:
~ The server is offline, probably having updates or whatever it may be.
~ Your internet is offline.
~ Your firewall, anti-virus or both has/have blocked MapleStory from initializing.
~ Outdated Client.
~ Get v55 Setup.

• Possible Solution:
~ Wait for the server to get online.
~ Turn off the modem/router for 1min, and turn it on again. Access the game 5minutes later.
~ Windows XP: Go to Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall > Exceptions Tab > Add Program… > Browse for Slinky_MS.exe > OK > OK
~ Windows Vista: Go to Control Panel [Classic View] > Windows Firewall > Change Settings
~ Windows Vista: Go to Control Panel [Control Panel Home] > Windows Firewall > Change Settings
~ Get a new client
~ V55 MapleStory Setup: http://files.filefront.com/GlobalMapleStor...;/fileinfo.html



Failed to delete my character:
• Possible reason(s):
~ You are not using a registered account via website. You are using AUTO-REGISTERATION.

• Possible solution(s):
~ Delete your character using TODAY’S DATE.
Example: Date = 2010 / 03 / 22
Deletion code: 20100322



Invalid Pointer / access denied.

Level 30: MP -45, for duration of 250secs, with success rate 60%, returns 200% of magic damage received back to enemy.

So this is maths...
Damage recieved: 1
Reflecting 200%: 2 DMG RETURN
Unable to deal DAMAGE WITH CURRENT STATS [TOO GODLY TO DEAL 2 DAMAGE]
- Invalid Pointer Occurs -

• Possible reason(s):
~ Bugged skills [By the way, I think MANA REFLECTION is bugged]
~ You did something unexpected different from what the database expected.

• Possible solution(s):
~ Re-install MapleStory.
~ DO NOT USE MANA REFLECTION.



Unable to add player to Buddy List
• Possible reason(s):
~ Bugged Char / Client

• Possible solution(s):
~ Delete someone who is online, and add him/her back, @save, restart maple.



For those old players who cannot connect to the game service...
~ Please Kindly re-download the client



MapleStory For Window Vista User(s).
Before I begin the guide, please take a look about your PC Specifications and problems. Do feel free to comment/criticize after trying my steps.
With “Welcome Center”, no worries, everything is there. Pictures talk more than words.

1. Update your Graphics Cards. [Google "Your Graphics Card's Name Update"]
2. Follow the steps closely.











+ It should be running by now… + FOR THESE ERRORS, KINDLY FOLLOW THE STEPS GIVEN BELOW. +


1. Delete the GameGuard folder in your MapleStory folder. [If there’s any.]
2. Download Nprotect installer from this link:

3. Install it into your maplestory folder.
4. If you are using Windows Vista, Please download and replace the files. [Do NOT replace .exe & npkcx.ocx files] https://nprotect.ncsoft.co.kr/nProtect/keyc...npkcx_vista.cab



Tips to enhance gaming experience
• Always keep your system up-to-date.
• @save more often, especially when you are logging out and before an event.
• Always remember to clear unwanted items [Cookies / browsing history], this will greatly reduce the memory load and will make your PC work faster. Download CCleaner.
• Take a rest of 5mins every hour if you are using PC for long hours
